Welcome

Message from the
new Lodge #69 President

I would like to thank the members of the Fraternal Order of Police Loudoun – Dulles Lodge #69 for allowing me to become President. I hope I can carry on in the great tradition of the FOP and of this lodge. Our lodge has seen some changes over the past few years we have become more involved not only in our local community but also in that of our great state. The influx of new more active members has really made a difference. Past President Ian Griffiths spoke of this at our Installation Dinner on February twentieth. He recalled lodge board meetings that had as few as three board members present. The lodge board has grown since then and gelled. We now have an active eight member executive board that meets monthly. Our monthly meetings usually attract an additional five or so members who want to listen in.

I plan to appoint some committee chair people to help make things run a bit easier for the board members. This will include a Budget Committee and a Special events committee. Brother Pat Macmac has already been appointed Committee Chair of our annual Picnic and is overseeing our development of a Golf tournament. Pat assisted me with the Holiday party and the installation dinner these events will be placed under the direction of the Special Events committee.

I also want to congratulate the new members of the board. Derrick Kekic Sergeant at Arms (Special Agent with Virginia ABC), Ken Larson Secretary (Detective with Fairfax County Police Department), Mark Pruitt Treasurer (Special Agent Virginia ABC), Larry Pangle 2nd Vice President and former treasurer (Detective Fairfax County PD retired), Ken Fognano remains Vice President, and Gary “the Bishop” Myers remains Chaplain. Ian R Griffiths became past President. I want to thank both Bob Degroot (former 2nd Vice President) and Dan Farrell (former Sergeant at Arms) for their hard work and dedication to the FOP and the board of Loudoun Dulles Lodge #69.

I hope to see you at our next board meeting or event.

John H. Ohrnberger, President
Fraternal Order of Police
Loudoun - Dulles VA Lodge # 69

Thanks to all who helped make
Santa Cop 2009 a huge success!

The Lodge Executive board and Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank the lodge members and law enforcement officers who participated in making this year’s FOP Lodge #69 Santa Cop program the resounding success that it was. It is most gratifying to see the positive impact and interaction between the “COPS” and the kids, for many of whom, this would be their only Christmas gift(s). Without your support, this would not be possible.

As most of you are aware, this was most probably my last Santa Cop as your president. It’s nice to go out on a high note!!! I have been most fortunate over the years since the lodge was chartered to have the support and assistance from a no finer group of professionals in the Law Enforcement fraternity such as yourselves.

God Bless and all the Best for the holidays.

Fraternally,

Ian R Griffiths, President
Fraternal Order of Police
Loudoun - Dulles VA Lodge # 69
